New radiator for 4th gen
Looking at getting a new radiator (from PWR), since my car overheats something shocking...
Car's been built to go turbo (soon), so keeping that in mind, should I go with a standard Prelude size, or a Civic sized one to save room for mani/piping?

Re: New radiator for 4th gen (Arch-Angel)
Why not go with the civic the hell of it and peice of mind. Extra room for the manifold and piping is always nice. There was a write-up about how to do it around here somewhere.

Yeah, Madcitylude just posted his write up and the hoses fit perfectly. In the writeup that Hawkze put up, I remember him saying that he was going turbo also.
But why exactly is your car overheating? Are you sure it's the radiator?

the problem with PWR radiators is they have one size for the ludes when there it two sizes.
This means if you have the h22 engine, not only will it not fit, the fans will not mount on the back (not OEM fitment).
The template for PWR was taken off non h22 engine.
Why do i know this ? I had bought one and had to send it back.

Re: (Hawkze_2.3)
the fans are the least of probs. They dont fit in the stock radiator supports if you have the wrong car for the radiator.
After telling PWR there were two types and basically them calling me a liar i gave up and bought a koyo. Fitted like a charm

I HAVE A HOOK UP FOR THIS 3 ROW CORE ALUMINUM RADIATOR. IT'S BETTER THAN KOYO, NEW DESIGN AND BETTER.
LET ME KNOW IF YOU'RE SERIOUS.
AT EBAY PRICES.

So you're saying the Si and VTEC have physically different locations for the rad supports? I would be really surprised if that were true...

Go with the civic half and it could look something like this. Mine also has been taking a while to warm up lately.I use a pusher fan.

A friend of mine is going Turbo on his H23Vtec soon.
I'm ordering a Koyo radiator for my H22 because I've got plenty of room (staying N/A), so for me a Civic Half Rad. isn't necessary.
But does the Half Rad. gives enough cooling when he's having a Turbo? It's good to have more room for piping and the turbo, but cooling the **** is more important.
Edit: Sorry, didn't look far enough. Found my answer: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1189079

i've had both rads in my car. not true. they both fit just normally. its the fans that don't fit with each other.
in other words, h23 fans must go on a h23 rad.

i am using one of those cheap ebay aluminum civic radiators. i've had it in there for 2 months. there was absolutely no fitment problem. cant beat it for $100.

is there an advantage of a pusher fan over a normal fan? i'm considering using a pushing fan for the added space.

x2, and i'm going turbo too, with a no-name slim fan.
theres no way a full size rad + 2 fans woulda fit w/ the hairdryer

Only thing I'd like to know is something about the coolant fluid.
Koyo's advice is for example 50/50 premix coolant (street )and distilled water w/ Redline Water Wetter (track).
Can I also go for 100 % coolant fluid (with aluminium protection)? In my OEM rad. at the moment I only use this fluid. The koyo is twice as thick. But I think it won't be a problem using again only the coolant fluid, right?

Keep in mind-- 100% coolant will do a terrible job of cooling the motor. It's specific heat capacity is much lower than water. 100% water does a much better job, but of course it freezes.
It's better to mix it.

Re: (darkspector2.0)
^^^^ isn't that really bad for your engine? I read something like that under the hood, use only 50/50 prediluted because water will shorten the life of your engine dramatically? I use 50/50 and some Redline additive that is supposed to drop temperatures by like 20 degrees.
