how to tell if shocks are blown or not
how can you exaactly tell if your shocks are blown or not?
and also, my front part (i think its from suspension) makes really slow and low rattling sound only in the morning when its cold. it sounds like a baseball hitting my suspension. does anyone know if its suspension or not and what i should do?

leaking is a clear sign
if your shocks are gone the car will be bouncy over bumps... since only the spring is holding the car, and the purpose of a shock is to dampen the up and down motion of the spring.

To test your shocks, try this:
Bounce the car by pressing down one corner of the car few times then give it a good push then let go.
If your car still has good shocks, it will go up then down just a little bit, then stops moving.
If the shocks are bad, on the last push after you let go, it will go up, then down, then up again before coming to a stop.
Any sign of leak around the inner part of the shock definitely tells you that it's time to replace the shocks.

If your shocks are blown and you are just riding on your springs, would the spring could also be damaged?

Riding on blown shocks will not damage youre springs, but it will cause additional stresses on other suspension parts, such as ball joints, tie-rod ends, bushings etc.
