Default H22 throttle body

Hi

I have a buildt H22A engine with Golden Eagle intake manifold.

Power goal is 400Whp.

The stock H22A come with a throttle body that is water heated from the coolant. It seems that it is thermostat controlled inside the throttle body.

I have searched HT and the reason for the water heating ppl come up with is to eliminate freezing of the valve/throttle body. (sticky valve)

My question is, what about non-OEM throttle bodys, dont they stick ? There is no heating on them as far I can see.

Can I expect HP gain with another non-OEM throttle body, any sugestions what i should get?

Thanks

i dont know about all noobs who said that the water coolant is used to heat the throttle body to keep it from sticking.. but thats not what the coolant is for.. its used to make the Fast thermal idle control valve to let the car idle higher when cold to bring the motor up to temp.. then closes when coolant become operating temps..

using a aftermarket throttle body is just fine.. and using a OEM throttle body with no coolant lines is also fine too..

yeah people by pass this all the time on their stock motors, if you live in a place where it doesn't get too freezing like cali it's perfectly fine to bypass this

if you get any gains form it, I'm not sure but yeah it's just to help warm up the end on a cold start.

Ok..

I will buy a BDL throttle body from Laskey and let the throttle body coolant go thru my water cooled turbo instead.

Thanks

Search the web for "carb ice." There is a reason to have a heated throttle body for humid/cold climates like the OP's location: Norway...

Removing it can keep the intake charge cooler but I do not think that it matters that much. I removed mine to simplify the whole system. Works fine without it (for my climate) and less crap to break/fix/replace.

ya i took mine out to it added like 1-2hp lol. But I just took off my FIV off and got an aluminum plate to cover the ports with some silicone and the seals it valve came with.
