Default 1993 Honda Prelude SR-VTEC Track Built Race Ready FOR SALE (ugly duckling)

The story here is that I bought this car a few years ago for $4500 from a guy in Chicago that was given the car to hold for his buddy while he was out of the country. His friend never came back so he sold the car to have room. He didnt really tell me much about the car other than his friend spent a lot of money on it. It is honestly an ugly duckling but it has a lot of money invested into it.

The Pictures should tell most of the story. All I've done to it while I've had it is redid the wiring for the front end of the car(headlights and blinkers) because they were all cut and the plugs were missing. I also put factory wheels on it and some nearly bald falkens on the front just so I could take it to the local dragstrip to run it a couple times and see what it had. Anyways. The interior is completely non-existant. There is absolutely no interior and nothing factory inside except HVAC and window controls and all driving controls.(pedals, shifter, steering column) Everything else is gone. I have probably only driven it about 300 miles ever sine I've owned it. (I had to drive it back and forth to class for about a month)

Also, The car has a full roll cage(handles like its on rails), KYB GR-2's with Neuspeed Spring, Drilled rotors(stops on a dime), Aftermarket Clutch(I was never told what it was but it has a stiff pedal and semi rough engaugement), eBay Steering wheel(I just threw one on there because it didnt have a wheel when I got it), DC sport headers, RS*R Exhaust(I never had it in the air so I dont know if it has a special cat or what not),and Racing seats made by JAMEX. I'm pretty sure the engine has been built because it runs stronger than any vtec lude I've driven. Also, The ECU has had work because the rev limiter does not engauge before 8K. I've had it there a couple times at the drag strip but I haven't hit the limiter. The harness's, steering wheel, race wheels, and intake were removed before I bought the car. The Idle Control Valve has been blocked off to eliminate the wandering idle.

I cant think of anything else at the moment.

I will be honest, I think the paint job is horrid. I wanted to repaint it but I never got around to it.

Now for the BAD. I was drving the car home from class one night and decided to pass the car in front of me.(two lane highway) Anyways. I down-shifted to fourth and began to accelerate past the car. As I was accelerating, the car lost power and wouldn't respond to throttle.(around 4000 rpm I think) I coasted to the side of the road and just stopped there trying to figure out what happened. I tried to restart it after a couple minutes and it restarted. I started to take off to get home and as I shifted to second it died and wouldn't respond again. I let it sit for 15 or so minutes and tried to start it again. It started and I was able to drive it home. I was backing it into my parking spot as it studdered and died. Hasn't started since. I have checked compression(good), Fuel(good), Spark(no spark). I have changed the coil in it and still no spark. I have changed the ECU with a known good one and still no spark. I changed the Dizzy with a known good one and still no spark so I dont know where else to go with it so I just sat it and forgot it. lol Anyways. I would like to sell it now.

I would like to get $3500 for it as it sits or $4000 for it if I fix it. I am sure it is something simple so this might be the opportunity someone has been looking for to get a good project auto-x car that has lots of money into for a fair price. My loss you gain. Either way, I wouldn't mind getting some feedback on it to see what others think about it and the price.

Please list your car in the proper sales forum.

The regional sales forums move especially well.
