Removing window winder handles
Can anyone tell me how to remove the rear window winder handles please? I need to remove the door panel and I cannot work out how to remove the winder handles!

Re: Removing window winder handles (jo3blo3)
okay well im assuming u mean the window crank. Well the correct way of doing this is:
1) Make sure to take a note of what O'clock the handle sits at when the window is
fully closed
2) put the crank at 12 o'clock.
3) get a metal rod or wire or something and put a hook at the end
4) push in the door panel insert a little bit near the base of the crank
5) look behind the window crank and you should see a metal clip. take your hook
and pull it out, but make sure you don't pull too hard or it'll shoot out and if you
lose it then u can't remount it.
Just cuz im bored and have time on my hands, i will tell u how 2 re-install it.
Mount the metal clip to the back of the crank handle. It should only go in one way and it should click into place. then align where the window crank lines up when the window is fully closed and just push it back into place.
HOpe it helps! I don't know what kinda fit u got but mine all usdm fits are power so maybe an older jdm model?

Re: Removing window winder handles (koolkevin1107)
Helpfull Jo - I wouldn't have asked how to remove the handles (cranks) if they were electric, would I! Mine has only electric on the front doors.
Thanks KoooooolKevin. That is just the info I needed. And that is what I would have expected, but on mine there is very little "give" between the crank and the door panel. It is very hard to even get a flat screwdiver blade behind the crank handle and impossible to actually see in and locate a clip. But if it is there I will find it!
Cheers

Re: Removing window winder handles (ddclutch)
Ungreatful ddclutch - had I known enough about what type of Fit/Jazz you had then maybe I woulda been able to understand this a bit more.
Basically I was trying to let you know that ours don't have window cranks so I was a bit confused as to how yours has them.
But I guess... You're welcome.
