Default A Little Help

Some how my driver side window will not go up. It must have fallen off the rails or something. Anyways my question is how can I take off the little window crank or whatever its called?(my car is a cx, so it doesn't have power anything) Or if some one knows a way to put my window back in place please let me know. Thanks in Advance

This may help. It's a picture I found on the web of the retainer clip on a Pontiac window crank which I think may be the same way your crank is held on. It was like that on my old '84 1500S. You would need to get a piece of clothes hanger wire or such and bend a tight hook in one end and then push the panel down in the area around the crank pivot, then reach in under the crank and pull the clip out. You'll need to insert the hook in line with the crank or from the other end.

This other picture is of the clip up close, or one similar.

Thanks, taking off the window crank has been the hardest part. I was trying and trying last night but I couldnt get it. Any body know another way to take it off. Ive already gotten everthing else off, the only thing holding the actuall panel is the window crank.

the clip itself goes through the base of the window crank, they sell a tool to remove it, but what I've done before actually having the tool, was to take a small right angle pick, or flat head and pop the clip out, watch out though it will fly off and be a PIA to find. look between the door panel, and the crank itself and you should see the clip it self, just barelybut you shoul dsee it

you can try fishing string. loop it and try to get it on the end of the clip then try and position the string right at the middle of the clip and pull it out. i used a screw driver and it came right out.

I use my finger (and I have fat ones). I push back on the panel, push the clip off, remove the 2 screws left (door handle and door "lever"). Use a screwdriver to pop the "L" rod that goes through a hole in the back of the "lever" (where you pull on to open the door). Push up on it until it releases (you'll see it once you take the "lever" out and see the rod behind it. Then, pry it off CAREFULLY. It'll have tabs all the way around.
