throttle body or dashpot ?
ok so i installed my old motor on my new car and so its running fine BUT now idle sits at 3k rpms with the idle adjusting screw closed all the way so i removed the dashpot and i step on the gas a little and of course with the vacuum lines that go to it capped and its still idled at 3k so i manually push that **** where the gas pedal wire goes on a little back so it can idle normal so any ideas of what i can do? ( pic below )

Re: throttle body or dashpot ? (Lam.N)
is your throttle cable too tight?
going to check that i thought of earlier
does the throttle plate fully close?
dont know yet
any spare/open nipples on the manifold?
what you mean?

I'd look at the routing of your vacum lines , they look like some of them are hooked up wrong but it's hard to tell for sure with that pic.
Take a better pic without the writing added so we can see what youve got going on.

Agreed, your vacuum lines are all effed up. The one on the FPR is right, as is the PCV. Run the dashpot thing to the left nipple on the front there. You should also have the big brake booster one (not in pic), and one to the MAP on the firewall. Cap off everything else, toss that charcoal canister.

Good, someone else already posted a huge pic...

Ick, that pic is dirrrty! I'll have another one for you tomorrow with the right routing too, cleaned the bay today with simple green and a pressure washer.

Remove the canister, I don't know about the dashpot. The reason you don't see one in my pic is that it's a Z6 manifold, which doesn't have one.

Yes, don't remove your MAP sensor. Not only will you throw a code but it will run like **** too. Mine is gone, again, because of the Z6 manifold. You can see it directly on top of the throttle body.

TPS is off angle. Adjust it and it will fix itself. Had this happen on my prelude.

No I know. But I bet you that's what's wrong. Mine was off I think it was 15 degrees and it would idle from 2500-4500 (4500rpm at start up = no good). We repositioned it and the car would idle from 900-1100. Mmmm...a nice idle.

should idle at 750 . but the dashpot is clearly off, i could see it in the first pic i looked at.

It looks fine to me . Maybe I'm not noticing it. At 750 the engine vibrates alot, causing the car to vibrate. I find at 1000rpm, with urethane bushing inserts, that the car vibrates alot less at idle, which is what I want.

compare this to his first image. he has his dashpot running to one of the purge solenoids. that is wrong and that could certainly cause the problem.
The dashpot slows the closing the of the throttle plate, considering hes got his setup wrong, this could be causing a funky idle.

Possibly, and it might be it since the map sensor isn't on the TB like on the prelude (obd1). Hmmm, meh, I gave my idea of a f-ed up MAP sensor. He needs to fix it and say what is wrong.

Thats why I found and posted the diagram. I figured he would print it and compare. He deff. has a few issues that need to be fixed. I'm thinking he needs to get it all routed right to fix the problem THEN work on finding out what lines he can do without. I think other ppl telling he does not need things is gonna confuse this kid.

Only lines you should removed are the charcoal canister lines. Block them off. Everything else you keep to make the engine run good. That's what I did. I'm runing 3 or 4 vaccum lines.
