Default Side and rear hatch window trim removal

I'm trying to paint the rubber/plastic covered outer lower window trim on my hatchback. Is there some kind of trick to getting if off without bending it? I can't seem to find any attachment points on any of them. The diagrams I've seen in various places are small and blurry. Are there any how-to's or photos to this effect?

I was using a small screwdriver to pull that stuff off a car I was scrapping. They came off without any damage, just had to be careful. I think they pretty much just snap into place at a few points but I didn't really look closely.
