Default oil in exhaust runners and coolant in oil

I just did the head gasket with a new head I got from someone.

Alright I have a problem. Everything fired right up and some white smoke came out the exhaust but of course that was expected. But it keeps coming, now I have water mixed with oil again, and oil coming from the #2 and #3 exhaust manifold tubes. I saw some oils dripping and smoking from behind the manifold between the heat shield. Nothing is leaking from the head gasket or vc area.

All the head bolts are tightened, all vac and cool and hoses are hooked up properly, so I'm stuck.

I actually saw oil coming from the manifold when I removed it.

New thread huh?

Let's be logical here, from you're description you're saying that the leak is not external so that means...

And this head you installed, what type of prep work did you put into it? Same question for your block. If the details from your post are correct there are pretty clear signs of what you're going to have to do no matter where the problem(s) stem from.

PS Happy New Year

Didn't really prep too well except for smoothing out the surface of the head and block, also cleaning the cylinder walls. The head had no signs of burnt oil so I assumed everything was good.

There are no exterior leaks except for oil dripping from the back of the EM, between the EM and its rear heat shield.

After looking up the problems, I guess my valve seals could be shot.

How did you smooth out the surface? And what type of gasket did you use?

Just used engine degreaser and wiped off some gunk. There wasn't any gasket crud on the block or the new head.

I used the felpro gasket not the MLS

I've used Felpro in the past on a couple different engines and I've never had a problem.

pull head back off, replace stem seals, have a machine shop re surface the head, and use a z6 MLS head gasket.

and as far as oil in the ports go, well my buddies dsm did this bad, when we finally did his stem seals the old ones weren't even sealing.

old on the left, new ones on the right:
