my experience has been that lawnmower batteries are really weak and have to be replaced more often than other types of storage batteries. at face value--i would not consider doing this. if u want lighter weight, just buy the race battery...

that's my old .02 worth.

I'd maybe do it in a full drag car - but not something I planned on driving alot, or road coursing...

The problem is not with them not running properly while the battery is good, it lies in the type of battery.

Basically, you've got a battery designed for constant rapid dispersement of stored energy (car batteries) for the starter vs a much much smaller charge dispersed for a lawn mower. So you're essentially doing far more wear on the lawnmower batteries, which in a parallel series I'm sure could work, than you would be just dropping $80 or whatever it is now on an ultralight battery.

I wouldn't do it, but there's no reason why it wouldn't work okay for a short period of time.

A mower battery that is strong enough for your motor will be like $45-$50. I have bought more than one used odyssey or buddy club battery for $50. Even a brand new odyssey from ebay is like $80. Just look around. I wouldnt run a mower battery its not much cheaper and the odyssey AGM batteries last years, it would probably be the last battery you will buy for the car.

there probably not nice to you cause you try to be like all those other people that are against straightedge kids and say everything is a drug, yes if you want to get technical... it is, just like caffine and fast food......

I ran one in my Hatch. It worked good but only lasted 1 year. I am looking for a small 12v battery that will hold up a little better. I need a small one because with my turbo setup I don't have much room anymore.

I got a normal 300 cranking amps battery from walmart on sale for like $32 with taxes

It has a 6 year free replacement and 12 month exchange

Every 6 months Im just gonna replace it and say it dont work no more

Ive seen several people using them as daily drivers

You really cant let them drain at all. They arent made to be used hard.

I would have been interested to see how the lawn mower thing worked out, but it's cool you won't be doing it to your car

Completely off topic, so maybe I should take this to PM and not worry about % but I like public forum, it's a bit more polite sometimes.

Anyway, I'm not at all against straight edge kids, I've been good friends with several (we lost touch over the years due to jobs / location, etc.). The fact of the matter is, the average drug dealer should be shot. You have people with no morals and no real care about anyone else trying to hustle and kill the society around them.

At the same time, we are pumped full of drugs everyday. I know a fair bit about chemistry and I can tell you for a fact things like fast food have more of a long term effect on a healthy adult's body than one time use of a gram of raw cocaine. This is controversial as ****, but for good reason - no one wants to admit that growth horomone, altering crops genetically, etc. is terrible for us because it's more profitable, but the data does exist you just have to hunt for it.

So no, I'm not a complete ******* about sXe although I do smoke a bowl now and then, I just try to be rational about it. I definitely respect you decision and admire it in a way, I don't think that having a beer on the weekend to relax is a great thing, but I enjoy it enough (addiction or not, we won't argue that here ) that I think there's always degrees of severity.

tl;dr - Basically, I respect your opinion, but I like to debate things too much.
