leave it in gear going down a hill and see if it smokes when you get to the bottom and give it gas.

Also do dry/wet compression test. if wet (drip some oil in the cylinder before testing) is significantly higher you need rings sir

It just hit me today, I smelled the oil and yes indeed there is a gas smell to the oil plus it's slightly on the runny side. Looks like my rings have finally given out. I think I'll park her cause the last thing I need is the gas thinning out the oil and causing a complete lock up.
