Default help.. knockin sound

K ive got a d16a6, fully built high compression what not. and its been running super strong for the week i had it in the car, but today it starting making almost like a knocking noise. Sounds almost like its in the oil pan, but not sure. I loose power at 5500 rpms.. at idle its semi loud, but as the motor revs higher it fades a little.. I know its not a rod knocking. not a valve. what the hell could it be! please help with ideas or suggestions, remember this is a fresh motor, had 0 miles after i was done working on it. just passed 600 miles.

rod knock for sure... who built the motor? your best bet is to take it apart now rather than continue causing damage.

thats the thing, it is not a rod knock ik what a rod knock sounds like, its got BRAND new bearings, its almost impossible to spin a bearing that quick, granted it could happen, but that is not it. I was thinking it might be a the bearing clamps... or something in the trans is loose.

maybe it's opportunity? ...and that's my joke of the week

no matter what it is you will most likely have to take the motor back apart to find out anyway or at least take the oil pan off at minimum. sucks but your gonna have to get dirty to figure this one out.
