Default H22 in to an 86... What all do i need to get/do?

I had an 87 si and i really loved that car, unfortunately i had to sale it. I found an 86 the other day needing a head, the body is really straight. the guy wants $400. If i was to get this, can i swap an H22 rather than a B18, and does anyone know what i may need.

an 86 needs alot of work to get a h22 in it... in fact i dont know if they even make mounts for the thing, i would get a rex or a civic from a later year, there are alot of people trying to get rid of shells for the same prices

its been done, but the h22 is a pretty tall engine.

there was even photo evidence of it, it was a first gen crx, greyish in color, h23 block with an h22 head.

it looked like the guy did quite a bit of fabrication to make it work.

if you really want an H you could find a 88-91 standard or dx hatch for dirt cheap with a clean body and at least have mounts and axles to buy aftermarket...

"Available Now - H-Series mount kit for the 88-91 Civic / CRX. Includes 6061-T6 billet aluminum mounts along with cable-hydro transmission adapter and alternator relocation kit."

These guys make EF H-series stuff as well:

If you read, he had an 87 and found an 86. Nowhere does it say he has an 86. Take your own advice before you criticize others.

I will agree on the fact that the 88-91 body style would be much easier to swap as well as an abundance of aftermarket help. I tried to find any info on an H22 in a 86 but couldn't find anything.

Good luck with your search.
