which block?
Ok here's the deal, I got a y8 vtec head to put on my car. I have a d15b2 right now but this guy wants to sell me a d16a6 block for $30. Is it worth it or should i just put the new head on my motor?

well the thing is you dont know the condition of the a6 block who cares what he says. but for $30 i would buy it but not use it with the y8 head right away. i would build it slowly everyday or weekend either for turbo or n/a your pick. to swap in later. that way you can still ride around.
*use the current d15b2 since you know the condition of it and it hasn't given you problems i assume.

Is your d15b2 running right now? Leave it alone.
I'd get the a6, and swpa the vtec head on that, like pa said, building it would good.
But i'd leave hte motor in your car right now if it is running and ddriving fine, then once the a6/y8 is ready to swap, swap that **** in. So you have no down time.
the d15/y8 mini me really isn't ****, and it isn't worth the cost of a new head gasket and other gaskets.

well the reason for me wanting to do this so quickly is because i think timing bely needs to change and i would rather swap the engine out one time.
As for building it whatt do u recomend? I dont want to spend an *** load of money. In the future I may run a little boost on it. like 7 or 8 psi.

Re: (NiNeTy_HaTcH)
y8 head a6 block 10.33:1
y8 head d15 block 10.52:1
z6 head a6 block 9.95:1
z6 head d15 block 10.10:1
so if he used the a6 it would be a bit lower in compression ratio. if he stayed d15b2 he would have a higher c/r

Re: (viteg)
Why would you want to use that ecu,,??
The p2n ecu is horrible for performance,,And its obd2 and its for the vtec-e motors..I dont know if it will work though
