the top ones you have to replace the control arm with them, it takes like 30 minutes to do each side. I dont know i havent done the bottom ones. You can buy the top control arms with balljoints for like 80 bucks from advance auto, i work there and thats where i got mine. they sell just the balljoint, but im not sure if you have to have it pressed in the arm, it was just easier to replace it. on the bottom... i THINK you have to get those pressed

For the lowers. Remove the spindle from the car. Theree is a snap ring that retains the balljoint. Remove the snap ring, and beat the **** out of it with a BFH untill it comes out. Reassemble in reverse order.

90-91s had removable upper balljoints just like the lowers, I just described. The 88-89 you have to replace the whole arm. I just updated both of my EFs with kits off of EBAY that include all the front balljoints, tie rod ends, sway bar endlinks, it was a great deal
