90 Civic LX GSR Swapped - Charging Issues
New problem, battery isn't charging. I picked up the alternator from a salvage yard with a lifetime warranty so I'm going to assume that it's okay for now. Where else should I look?
I'm not an electricity man. If it's mechanical, give it to me but otherwise I'm slowly learning. I'm slightly concerned I may have missed an important connection to the fuse box when I relocated it under the dash.
Here's the setup:
-Battery relocated to trunk running 0ga wire with 200A inline fuse directly to the starter
-Grounded to the body with same 0ga wire
-9ga wire running from the starter to the fuse box which was relocated under the dash
The 9ga runs to the farthest terminal on the right (or in the image above, the very top). Now here's where I believe I'm missing something, I could never figure out what went in the terminal right next to that one (on the left), so I left it empty But she runs with no problems.
Someone please help me understand the charging system a bit better. I just feel like I'm missing something obvious. Then again, it could just be the alternator. I just don't want to drive south of ABIA to pick it up

I know this may sound stupid, but have you checked your fuses? I have a 97 civic ex with a jdm gsr. I though my alternator went out so I replaced it with another one. My battery was still wasn't charging.... turns out it was a dang fuse. I am assuming that all this started to happen after you relocated your battery?

Yeah, though I never saw the car run before the swap and relocation. I'm pretty sure the cable I'm looking for, for the fuse box, is the culprit. Here's a diagram from an EK fuse box
I have the one running from the fuse box to the battery/starter cable. Question is, where is the connector for the other one? I'm pretty sure I don't have any loose connectors on the harness but who knows. If someone could snap a pic of where that wire runs into the harness, or just generally where it goes, that would be awesome. Or could I simply run new cable from there to the positive post on the alternator?

OR... could I run new wire from the post on the alternator to the post on the starter to solve the problem?

Now here's what I was talking about with my charging issues. Here's a pic of the fuse box relocated under the dash
Notice I'm missing the second large cable, pretty sure its for the alternator. Now where does that connection come out of the harness at? I'm looking for a stock picture of where that connection runs to. I may have found the culprit but I'm not sure. In the pic below notice the black wire that comes out of the harness which I grounded to the frame rail.

I junked my first car because i had a short somewhere and it kept killing the battery
If that ever happens on my ef, im not gonna let that happen agian

Forgot to update this thread. Solved the problem with the alt cable out of a spare GSR harness I had already raped for connectors. But yes, all info here is correct
