What performance mods should I install next?
I have a jdm b16a swapped ej1. I have the basic I/h/e mods. I was thinking about upgrading my intake manifold and throttlebody next to a skunk2 setup. Or should I save my money and do a vavletrain and then cams. Is the skunk2 valvetrain with stage 2 cams any good?

Cams and a tune would help a lot.
edit: I'm saying for the money....because it would also maximize your previous upgrades (I/H/E).

clutch and flywheel will help you drive it with more HP and stuff, but i would also vote for cammin it out and tuning it

Re: What performance mods should I install next?
Funds are quite limited. I'm a full time college student workin full time. I want to try to stay away from boost. Since this is my first project car I wanna do a nabuild. Learn as much as possible in the process. Have heard of crowler cams but they are a little expensive for me. Basically I need the best bang for my buck. as far as the tuning goes the only place to tune that I know of is roughly a 5 hour drive away. Would getting the ecu chipped for my car, after upgrades of course, be an alternative to getting it tuned.

Re: What performance mods should I install next?
nice post matt55. if you look, for example, at the skunk2 cams you can see that you can get stage 1's, 2's, or 3's. or if you look at buddy club's cams. they have the spec III's = tuning stage 1, IV's = tuning stage 2, and V's = tuning stage 3. i dont understand how he thinks we are just making this up.
ill agree tho, if you arent boosting a cam and tune will be a good addition
buddy of mine put a cam in his ls, didnt notice much, then he tuned it and got an extra 10 hp on the dyno. not too bad if you ask me

No, I know that some people use the term "stages" but it is about the most vague lame term I have ever heard. Any one who knows any thing about cars would rather hear the specs on the cam instead of "stage 2!" I did go to the website and the explanations are vague also.
No one who actually has a car that makes any kind of power talks about stage 1 or 2 or blah blah blah.
Like I said before get out of the civic section and post a thread about what "stage" you should tune to in the all motor section. That why H-T has an all motor section. This section is for trouble shooting.

Well aside from them hijacking your thread. I agree with the previous posters. Cams and Valvetrain and a good tune.
I myself have the skunk2 valvetrain and the tuner street cams. Been in the car for 3+ years. Def more grunt up top. I would go that route. And nice to see your willing to learn. Good luck on the build.
