What happens when I install skunk2 tuner camshafts?
New to car stuff :/
i just engine swapped my 99 prelude with a reman h22a4. Wondering if I installed the skunk 2 tuner canshafts that add 15-20hp as well as the valve springs and retainers if I would have to tune the car after? Still working on finding someone reliable to tune and am doing what I can to the car myself until then. The is stock with some sort of performance headers, stage 2 exedy clutch, and lightweight flywheel. Also what are the best camshafts to buy to gain some HP without sacrificing driveability? The google is recommending skunk 2 tuner something. Any other opinions? Thanks!

You need some kind of engine management there and yes tune. Also you wont get everything out from aftermarket cams with stock compression. Also stock intake manifold could become bottleneck then and of course you need good exhaust system. Dont expect miracles unless you build whole engine over again
Some people use brian crower cams
Cost per hp is terrible with h22 and when changing cams rockers wear more so they become the weakest link

Skunk 2 tuner series stage 2 need higher than stock compression and a p28 or p72 ecu to tune.the tuner stage 1s work with stock compression would suit you more if your not going in and building your motor,u will still need an ecu and tune to get the most out them, they will work with your stock ecu but you won't get 10 - 15 extra horses.the h22a is a good Motor for money and you can get a lot of hp into them if you know what your doing.!
