steel won't crack like aluminum if you bottom out your oil pan.. it'll just dent. like k20 oil pans vs b series

Not at all. As long as it is going to seal right, there's no issue. The K series guys have it a little different, the aluminum pans shatter but the steel pans get smashed up into the oil pickup and starve the motor for oil. This is according to a guy who did a K swap, not first hand.

there are K series steel pans. I believe the K24 has a steel pan. One sits lower than the other with the K series. I can't remember.

bottoming out won't be a problem, would there be a cooling problem?

and any reviews on dorman oil pan fitments?
