Default Searched for: DIY for Thermally wrapped headers

Anyone got a good write up with pictures of wrapping your headers and/or painting them before wrapping them? The wrapping that reduces heat in the engine bay and has to be done after paining em cause it can cause rust. Thinking of doing this myself to my **** D16Y7 header, actually, Ima get a D16y8 exhaust used cause mine bites a nut, and the cat is built in.

I've wrapped my old DC and never had a single problem and I wrapped my y7/t3 custom turbo manifold and had that wrapped in header wrap and it held the heat in so good that it would still glow after 5 minutes of sporty driving.

I'm bumping this from a long time ago cause i'd still like more answers, and there isnt too much **** on header wrap, and no DIYs or install instructions. Better than making a new thread.

i think its safe to wrap a stainless steel header.

wrapping a coated stainless steel would be the best to reduce engine bay temps.

anybody disagree?
