So iv been at this for 2 days now
im working on replacing my alternator trying to get my car
running again . Finally got all the bolts off 2 of them were stripped almost
and now i cant get the dam thing out of the car . Im underneath it and the axles get in the way . there a huge bracket that it sits on thats in the way and it looks like its a pain to get off its on really really tight .. above there are to many vacume hose's and metal lines in the way ..

Whats the easyiest rout to go?? and why would they put it in such a awkward ****in spot ...

Once you remove the lower mount bracket and the splash guard, the alternator should slide out from below to the left.

i was going to do that but it was on really tight and really coated in gunk and stuff started falling in my eyes so i was like well its time to go to work. so i decided id post this before i give it a try.. ill go at it tommorow with some pentrating oil and try to get it off. those bolts on the bracket are awkward as hell with my axle right there.

One more question i read a guide about tighting the belt and everything for the alternator. How should i go about doing this i figured id throw it on and push it back until it was slightly tight then tighten all the nuts and bolts is there another way i should goa bout that ?

Lol I'm glad I know how to properly do this now. I always undo the brake master cylinder and FPR and wiggle it out from the top.

Well for starters, make sure you replace those bolts or nuts youve stripped, cuz that will cause you alot of headaches in the future. Take bracket off, the slide alt out, then slide the new alt back up, and either have some1 hold it up or set it out of the way so you can reattach the bracket easily. Once bracket is all tightened and torqued, put the alt in and tighten the lower nut and bolt just enough so u can still move to alt to adjust belt. Then toss your belt on and then get the top pretty close to tight. I usually take a flathead screwdriver and GENTLY pry on the alt and then tighten the top nut. Check belt tightness, if all good, then tighten up the bottom bolt and ur good to go.

If I remember correctly, using a 14-mm socket with a short extension on a breaker bar loosens those bolts in short order.

**** so i got one of the bolts on the bracket off
the 2nd one is almost stripped
and i completly broke one of my extension
(cheap walmart 20$ rachet set )
and the expensive craftman sockets i have for getting
stripped bolts out is to big .. the sides of it push again the bracket
so i cant lock on evenly..

so now i dont know what to do..
i thought about trying the fuel preasure regulator way but it looks like a huge mess and i dont have small wrenches ...

Well, if i remember correctly on my 00 ex, you can take the alternator out the top. Its a very snug fit, and takes alot of moving the alt around to find the perfect way, and it just BARELY clears, but it can be done

This is what I do. I got an ej8 with b-series and I always wiggle it out of the top. If you unbolt the fuel pressure regulator(release pressure first) and then unbolt the Brake master cylinder(don't push this around more than an inch or so or you will bend a line and render your brakes useless) then you can turn and wiggle it out. You gotta push the P/S line out of the way if you have it. This is a pain in the *** and I'm suprised to hear about anyone but me doing this BUT it does work. Thats the fun of working on your Honda though. Finding out what works. Good luck.
P.S. I hardly ever use socket style wrenches(Only on the easy stuff). Use hand wrenches whenever you can. Not only are they smaller than a socket wrench, but you are less likely to strip it out. I have several full sets of walmart wrenches and I have NEVER EVER stripped a wrench, and I'm wrenching every single night.
