Unless you're doing something major, you can do just about anything yourself with a haynes/helms manual.

You'd be amazed how easy these cars are to work on.

What're you trying to do?

I have owned this 97 EX for three years and have found it very easy to work on. My daughter is taking it out of state to college in Eugene next fall. Too far away from me to try and repair if it pukes. I can give her my Helms and Haynes manual but..........she is not into wrenching.
Sorry if I offended any dealership folks. I just would prefer an independent mechanic.
Thx

Yeah, I got a bad experience with the ones in Rochester.

I almost flipped **** on the guy b/c he hadn't the slightest clue what I was talking about by the filter on the fuel pump itself - I had to physically grab the monitor and point it out in the diagram as he had the fuel diagram up.

You may not know every part on a car, but if somebody says the fuel filter that's on the pump, you shouldn't be trying to show somebody the fuel filter in the engine bay.

wow, you have a daughter haha...OG haha. Wish i was your son bro haha. My dad hates the fact that my car is lowered and blah blah blah... What i would do is search online and see if you can find any good reviews on import repair shops in Eugene. Getting the local Eugene phone book would help to. Also what i would recommend is signing her up for AAA w/ plus service...that gives your daughter 5 free tows within the year period. When i first left for college my dad hooked me up with the membership towing.

If it comes down to it and you really need a shop to do something, find any honda specific shop. Most are super-competitively priced and do a good job.

Most honda/import performance shops care a little more. And are used to working on honda's, thus no inflated prices because it's a "japanese car"
