Radiator cooling fan not working and electrical problem
Okay, first off, I have a 1993 honda civic ex model car. It is a swap with a 1999 honda civic si which is the b16a2 motor. All the electrical systems are 93. Only the motor and tranny are 99. The radiator fan does not come on even when overheating. Replaced the cooling fan switch, didn't work. Replaced the relay, didn't work. Bypassed the relay on the cooling fan switch and fan does come on, so motor isn't bad. I do have other electrical problems that I can't solve either. When I let my car sit for a while the battery will go dead, pulled out every fuse and relay and the only one that didn't have a power drain was the power distribution relay under the hood. The 80a one. Sometimes when I turn the key on, all the lights will dim and it won't turn over. The starter doesn't click so the battery isn't dead. But if I turn it back and then forward a couple times it will start to turn over and then start up and run. But it happens at any time. Today, my temp gauge started rising before I stopped at a red light, so I turned the car off, when to start it within 15 seconds and it wouldn't turn over. I got a jump and it turns right over. If anyone has any suggestions for either of these problems, please let me know. I absolutely want to avoid making a toggle switch for the fan. Thanks all.

Does anyone else have info on the other electrical problem? Because I'm thinking that these problems are intertwined.

I would pull your alternator and take it to auto zone or advance and have them test it. If its not that take your car to a mechanic and see if they can give u a FREE diagnosis.

Re: Radiator cooling fan not working and electrical problem
Good trick for a radiator fan that you don't want to hook up to a switch and that you don't want to hook up to ignition. Get a standard relay and ground the 85, hook the 86 up to the fuel pump+ hook the 87 up to the radiator fan and the 30 to your choice of power source. Have done it before. Works great
