Question about factory brake set-ups among differennt Civic Trims...
Sorry if this one has been done before or this bugs anyone. I searched a while on this one...
Civic DX had rear drum brakes and front disc brakes, while EX's and Si's had four while disc, correct?
Also: does anyone know the insurance differences between a '94 DX hatch and '94 Si hatch, on average? (Even though my driving record is far from average)

I'm not sure on the insurance. I don't think all, if any, of the 96-00 EXs came with rear disks. Maybe it was an option. But I've seen a few EXs with drums in the back.

No, they didn't. The EG EXs did though.
The 94s are so old, that there might not be a difference in price. Call your insurance guy for quotes.

See that had crossed my mind, but I don't want them finding out about the two wreckless tickets I've gotten in the last 5 months Plus pops is sellin' my 5.0 because of it, and he handles all of that stuff, so I don't want him knowin I'm already lookin into another car this early. Of course I'm buyin' this one, but I don't want him thinkin' I haven't leanred my lesson, which $1500 in fines and lawyer, 40 hrs of community service, and 90 days + whatever they wanna keep it for of Driver's License suspension is enough to tell me to slow down, because you can get caught.

If I were to get the DX, who makes a conversion kit to get me some 4 wheel disc brakes. Can I take em off of a 'Teg?

Assuming it's the 5th gen' Civic's you're talking about:
92-95 Civic hatch (CX, DX, VX)
· Rear drums
92-95 Civic hatch (Si)
· Rear disks
93-95 Civic coupe (DX, EX)
· Rear drums
ABS-equipped Civics (EX, Si)
· Optional
· Larger brake disks (10.25" over 9.5")
· Coupes still had the drums
· Sedans came standard with ABS

Probably the easiest way to get discs if you get the dx is to get 92-95 si discs. It would probably work the best, but Teg brakes are good too. Good luck.
