possible 98 civic hatch swaps
im pretty much oblivious to the import scene. ive been talking to a friend of mine, and another guy. my friend recomends a B20 block with a B16 head, and this other guy was recomending an H22. i pretty much know nothing about imports or how much im going to have to change if i do a swap. anyone hit me with any feed back or any other recomendations/why would be great. thanks a ton.

There are a lot of possibilities. Basically, you have the choice of any D, B series + H22 and the newer K motors. You can try the Hybrid forum and look for a couple helpful thread.

Forget it man, people on Honda-Tech doesn't answer question like these any more. You will get flame asking question like these that I guess you are expected to know if you are on this site..
Anyways let me try to help you. If you are looking for something reliable OEM is the best. You stay as close as you can to an OEM application and you won't have problem. Try to be creative, then you might be on your own.

If you ask someones opinion about motor swaps on here, they'll just tell you you're a noob. That or they'll just tell you what they wish they could have. Just do you're own research and figure it out on your own.

It goes over the PRO's and CON's, as for mini-me setups and hybrids, you'd have to do some searching, good luck and dont mind the flaming

I'd go with the h22.. Reason being the crv/vtec maybe nice but is hella expensive and requires a good amount of fabrication and all that good ****.. Even better if money isn't a issue go with a k series. But I am a b16 guy my self.

If you know about cars it is not hard to figure out Honda's or any car for that matter.
What the other guys say is right. Just do a small amount of reading and it will set you straight.
