So bare with me as i give you the details..

My 93 del sol is making a popping sound while idling (dont hear it while driving but it could still be doin it) from my exhaust, its not a backfire just a low pop pop pop.. Also you can smell a wiff of gas, like its not burning all of it and its leftover, starting it can be a little tempermental at times to from which i believe the gas is drowning the air out to make a spark.. any solutions?

any other details ill be more than happy to provide

Sounds like spark plugs need a changing.

sounds like you are not getting good rotation on youre spark check the ingtion timing an d spark plugs could be not gaped rite.
