Default please help with smoke in civic lx - MAJOR UPDATE AND BIG PROBLEM NOW!

before i start i found this thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2062137

my car is a 1998 civic lx 4 door. i dont have anything crazy on it just an intake. a friend told me yesterday that the car was blowing smoke when i "gunned" the car say to go up a hill or spped up. This morning I checked it by parking the car and revving the car. I discovered that it does indeed blow smoke. see for yourself at http://www.audioinnovationsny....e.mp4

according to the thread i found some people said it could be a head gasket or burning oil etc...... any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

does it smoke on start up? it could possibly be bad valve seals. If the seals are bad then oil will leak past the seals and burn up, causing the smoke from the burnt oil to escape through the exhaust valve, which would smoke out of your car like a ****, espeacially on start up in most cases. Just one of a million possibilities.

unless this is high priority drive, i wouldnt take ur car in that condition. if it is, take extra oil with you, and remember to make a lot of stops to add oil.

For some reason I can't play the video.

What color is the smoke? Do you have oil in your coolant or milky oil? Have you done a compression or leakdown test yet?

I reaaaaallllly wouldn't drive it to NY if I were you until you get this problem figured out. Oil is like blood. You can't live without blood right?

the oil is white - only seems to blow out when i hit the gas hard say to speed up or pass another car. the car is not overheating and it actually runs quite well. im just worried about this drive because i have no other choice. i need to take this car. once im there i can deal with the issue head on...... i just need to get there. any ideas?

Sounds like a blown HG to me, although it really hard to tell over the internet without compression #s.

Is there oil in the coolant? The last time I had a blown HG it would smoke only at high RPMs, no overheating or stuttering. The only way I was able to find out for sure was seeing oil in my coolant.

i havent done a compression test but i know from experience that a blown HG typically results in a lot of overheating etc. since my car isnt doing any thign else but burn oil i am a little hard pressed to think it's a HG.
