Default Smoking issues please help

On my buddys turbocharged teggy it smokes at different times. When you first start the car up it does not smoke but after about 3 or 4 minutes from initial start up it will smoke a little bit. It only seems to do this when its cold out and after the car is warmed up u can notice a little smoke from time to time at stoplights but nothing like it does when warming up. During normal driving conditions the car does not smoke and it does not do it under boost as well (or from what we can see it doesent). I wanna say his turbo has about 20k on it or maybe a little more Turbonetics). What could this be? It does it kinda bad when it is warming up but after its warmed up it does it from time to time but very little (sometimes when its warmed up it doesent do it at all). The smoke appears to be oil (blue smoke) but he really cant notice the oil level change. Any help will be great. Thanks Guys.

Mine used to do that, I had a pretty bad oil return set up that went low and curved back up, it would only do it after a long drive or if my car was sitting idling for awhile. Check that his return is not kinked Jr.

I dont think its gonna be the return line cause it does it when warming up and then it clears up. Really werid stuff

double check the return line anyway just to be sure so there are less variables to consider makes it easy to diagnose a problem.

i used to have smoking problems when i was running an open downpipe and it happened at different occasions, sometimes when i'm stuck in traffic it starts to smoke real bad like i'm doing a burnout or something.. thought my turbo was toast but after i installed a full exhaust system it somehow went away. weird..

like the guys said before, check the return line.
it would smoke like a dicken if the tap is too low in the oil pan too.

is the turbo new?
that would happen if the turbo seal is bad.

went and looked at it today. Ok for the first 2 minutes id say it was good from a cold start and then it started smoking. It honestly smelt like fuel (what will make it run this rich when warming up). After it reached operating temps it still smoked but u could barely see it coming out of the exhaust. What could cause this? We pulled the plugs and they looked normal. Could it be the hondata tune and the cold weather? Were really confused
