OBD2B Wiring Harness into 96-98 Civic Option??
I got a JDM B16B which came off from a 99-00 EK9 Civic
Which Got OBD2B ECU and OBD2B Engine Wiring Harness with it.
I did some search and found out OBD2B has 2 plugs at the end where
OBD2A has 3.
To Do that engine conversion in a 96-98 Civic Non Vtec
1 option is to get OBD2A Wiring harness from Vtec CIVC (96-98 Civic EX)
and get conversion harness of OBD2A to OBD2B ECU and plug it in.
2 option is to use the OBD2B harness and ECU. In my knowledge, I heard that we need to Change all the harness, like Dash Board harness. My question is, how ? I want more info in this area, like If i do the 99-00 dash board conversion and change the climate control will it work? Secondly, If i got 99-00 Dash board harness, will it solve the problem that OBD2B got only 2 plugs and will it work with 96-98 climate control and cluster?
3 option is to use existing OBD2A wiring harness and Cut and sold the wiring to combine the OBD2B harness and my non VTEC OBD2A wiring harness together to work and it will plug to the OBD2B ECU. But i cant find any topic in relating to how to do this correctly. May any knowledgable person to help me on this problem
Step to Step modifying the harness is appreciated.

Wire you existing harness for the knock sensor and 2 wire iac and vtec. Honestly its a 30min job to do. Then get an obd2a ecu or a-b jumper harness.
If you swap to the 00 dash harness you need the climate controlls as well and blower motor and you need to rig up something for you rear defrost button as well. There is a how to floating around on here about the dash conversion.

unless ur gonna change ur whole dash to 99-00 spec then its gonna be a total waste of time to change our dash harness to obd2b..if its just the motor ur tryin to wire in then use ur stock harness from the d series and plug everything up and add whats needed and get a obd2b to obd2a jumper harness for the ecu

Re: (ekb16)
use d-series 96-98 ex obd2a harness, boomslang or other 2a to 2b converter harness to make the 2b ecu work. you have to extend either the alternator wire or the cfk wire, but otherwise it's plug and play.
works 100% on my 96 ex civic with a 00 usdm b16a2 and obd2b p2t ecu, passes smog/inspection every time.
