Re: My friend wants to trade me his prelude for my civic
H22's = Hard. Mounts, transmission, and alot of cutting. If you do a H22 swap, mine as well work a bit harder and do a H2b swap
B series are much easier to swap. almost 98% plug and play.
Or if you want something that wouldn't cost a whole bunch. Just swap your Y7 head for a Z6/Y8 head. Then you get vtec, then TURBO IT haha. Just joking.
Do what you think is best for your ride haha.

i would go for the lude but with the body and interior damage. the cost to repair or replace that would make it not worth it. prelude stuff isnt exactly the cheapest things to get,

Not sure if htis belongs here, so mods you can move it if you like.
My car is a 96 civic DX hatch. It has 91k miles I just painted it and got new rims/tires. I have no A/C but he doesnt care.
My friend has a 00 prelude. It has like 180k miles, the body needs some work, and the interior does as well.
He said he will give me the prelude if I give him my car plus $1000, fair trade?

- Lower than average mileage (91,000)
- Lower trim car ('96 DX hatch)
- New paint
- New wheels and tires
HIS CAR:
- Higher than average mileage (180,000)
- Needs body work
- Needs interior work
Plus he wants $1,000 on top of your car to get your better condition car. lol Preludes aren't really fast either. Even though it seems fast compared to your hatch now, it will get VERY slow VERY quickly.
I'd say stick with the Civic.
You do seem to post a lot about getting rid of your car though. So it seems like you're just not happy with it and you're bored in the meantime.
Find a car you actually want to drive! Sell your Civic to your friend. Buy a car that you actually like.
This is all coming from someone who likes '92-'96 Preludes and not hatches so much.
You can do a front end conversion, but you'll be forever labeled a ricer.
You should look some information up though.
I have confidence that you can learn to use Google. I'm not trying to be sarcastic. I really think you need to start trying to learn things for yourself and not just always relying on others to find the answers for you.

i say you keep your hatch. you got yourself a rare Midori Green hatch simple and clean.
keep the car. use the grand to do a mini set up. done deal!

It will have it's challenges, but will be more challenging than any B swaps. Make sure you do some research on the components that you need before getting short blocks or whatnot, but H22s doesn't have much variations so parts are more rare. I wouldn't say there will much gain though, even with the torque increase from the B series because of the weight and how your Civic will handle.

he got a 2000 prelude, base model. very similar specs to mine as in mileage and condition of the car. Yeah his prelude is not fast, their just too heavy. I think it a fair trade since prelude are still very pricy these days where as 96 hatch goes for 3-4k max
