Mugen Twin Loop muffler on my 99 SI??? Will it be quiet?
Will it be quiet? I have stock right now and don't really want it any louder but want the performance increase. I have been told that the twin loop is quiet like stock but haven't heard one.
Have also been told that if I get a Type R muffler and have custom piping done to it I will gain all the benefits and be quiet like stock.
I'm having a hard time choosing an exhaust because I really really really want it to stay quiet like stock. The intake is loud enough as it is.
And what about the Mugen Twin Loop replicas? I really don't care if it says "Mugen" on it or not and if it will save me a couple hundred bucks for the same sound and performance I am all over it.
Thanks in advance.

I've got the Twinloop and I love it. You will notice a very very very slight difference in the sound. The Mugen gives the car a deeper tone but it really is hardly noticeable.
Of course a ITR exhaust would be quiet too. An ITR exhaust is what I was originally going to get but I got the Mugen Twinloop at a deal I couldn't refuse.

Does anyone have a picture of an SI with the twin loop? Kind of curious as to what it is going to look like also. Another thing I had wanted was for it to appear as stock as possible but might have to give that up for performance.

I hope you know the $475 price is for the axle back only - to really get any performance gains you will need a mendrel bent mid pipe too (2.33 -2.5 inch in diameter). the axle back for my hatch cost $680 - i really don't know why it costs 200 more but I am very happy with my mugen. it does have a dep tone but without the raspyness (s/p?) of just about all other performance exhaust systems

It will sound similar to stock. I personally, can't justify spending that much money for just an axle back. The gains will be minimal. You need to change the b pipe if you want more gains. Very nice, but very expensive..

it sounds sweet... its like a civic with an exhaust having the **** choked out of the sound... you will still hear the intake over anything else on your car...

Here is some pics of mine. I think it is perfect size.
And I realize I have a tow-hitch. It pulls my SeaDoo.

TwistedSI, it is a very nice deep mellow tone and great sounding. If you have the AEM CAI, it will cover the sound of the exhaust, specially when you your wot and hit vtec. I've had mine for almost 3 yrs and would never get rid of it.

I have a Ractive copy for sale on ebay right now: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=2409466610
it sounds awesome, low bass tone, and only loud when you get on it, but still much quiter than flow-through mufflers. Let me know if you have any questions about it cas322s@smsu.edu

Twinloop makes all the right sounds at the appropriate times.
Nice low, fat growl around town.
Silent on the highway
Barks nice and deep at full throttle.
Pricey, but worth it. I've had one for 4 years now. I wouldn't consider any other exhaust.
