Ok so i have a 95 civic with a swap. Yesterday i replaced the fuel filter and new dist cap and rotor. Today i went to go to the gym. The car wouldnt start. It would start, bog down and die. I thought it was out of gas (needle was near the E) So i filled it with some gas and started it again. Car still ran like crap. Got a code 21 and 3. (Map sensor, vtec solinoid) So i checked my ecu wiring and then reset the ecu. Car ran perfect. Idled fine and ran fine. I drove to the gas station (2.5 miles) and the car shut off threw a CEL and barely made it back home. Its a code 3 again (MAP Sensor) What could it be? just a bad sensor? or maybe a ground? or something else. Thanks guys i need this car to be ready this weekend for a long trip home for christmas break.

Ok, so i cleaned the ecu ground and took the car for a quick spin. I got on it pretty good hit vtec and all. Pulled real good like as if it were running normal. I am hoping the ecu ground was the issue. Ima check it again later after it cools down to see what happens.

test input & output voltage for MAP.

Should have a 5v reference signal & around 3v w/ KOEO check its continuity to ground on the ground wire also.

if its possible get another map sensor from a junk yard etc.. i had this problem only 2 week ago and the map sensor always came back at some stage! any map sensor from the same year car will work, for instance i have a obd1 b16a(firewall mounted map sensor) and im using a teg(tb mounted sensor) map sensor and the car runs great now with no problems

Well i took the car for about a half hour drive, no issues at all. Im hoping the ground was the problem but I am going to see if i can get a backup sensor from somewhere
