how do i clean my vtec solenoid
ok my vtec studders at 5-7 k rpm, i searched and it sounds like there is a fliter inside the solenoid that gets clogged w/ oil over time, so i am going to try and clean it. can anyone tell me how this is done or any tips that may help me out???

There isn't any filter in the VTEC solenoid, and I doubt it's VTEC that's studdering, but if you want to clean the solenoid, pull it off the car, soak it in some turpentine (make sure all electrical connections are covered or taken off, and use a Q-tip to get those hard-to-reach spots.

Just take the 3 10mm bolts off that hold the solenoid to the head and then you'll see the screen that comes off. Just get some brake cleaner and spray the screen out and the solenoid itself.
When putting it back on be careful not to overtighten b/c you can break the bolts.

Ah...he's talking about the screen. Okay. I thought he meant the oil passages near the solenoid itself were clogged. **** yeah: your way will probably remedy the problem.
