Default Help: My EG is making whinning noise when accelerate

My eg just started to make this whinning noise (like supercharger) when i accelerate from around 2000 rpm and noise increase as rpm increase.

I hear that in everygear

To clearify, i have no aftermarket intake and filter.

Is there something wrong with the car or is it normal?

Wheel Bearings FTL. jack up your car and wiggle your wheels back and fourth. They shouldn't be any play.

i m pretty sure it's not wheel bearing noise(i heard it before),
it's more coming from the engine bay

Sounds like a tight timing belt?

This is my initial thought...either that or a tight accessory belt.

car has a stock d15 motor with around 296k km on it, it has a newer S40 tranny

no a/c, accessory belt is okay, i replaced that with the timing belt and it's not the sound of the belt being too tight

Could it be coming from the stock intake?

jack the car up pop the hood and hit the throttle. listen around to find out where the noise is coming from. shouldn't be hard to find. usually when it's a whining sound it is usually belt related.

my car whines when it accelerates..
people said its the throwout bearing..

if you clutch in does the sound go away?
if so its the throwout bearing sound should be coming from the tranny area

spray oil on the timming belt!!!! WHAT!!!! that's great advice, wrong answer!

Im gonna say your input shaft bearing(in the tranny) could be going bad... does it make the sound went the car is in gear? double check the timing belt...

everything runs fine, it doesn't whine everytime, it just do this once a while

100% is not the timing belt or accesory belt, i think it's more of a leaking throttle body or input shaft bearing like someone said

but damn, i just replaced my old stock tranny with a newer one becuz of the output shaft bearing went bad on the old one
