Head gasket or what???
First off I have done the research and I have not been able to come to any conclusion with my problem, looking for some suggestions...
Let me describe what is going on...
I have a 93 civic dx, stock, 1.5 L
My car over heated a month ago. The radiator leaked and the thermostat was fried. I replaced the radiator and replaced the thermostat.
I bought a fail-safe thermostat, and now it is locked open. Let me explain why:
My car overheated from what I believe is lack of coolant in the system. My car burns coolant.
So what I did was a compression test today. The compression came out to be 200 across the board. So I do not know if the head gasket is blown. From my research it is not blown.
Also let me explain the coolant being burned. I see white smoke mostly when I am at idle. So every 200 miles I add about a pint of coolant into the system.
And when I turn on the car with the radiator cap off, I see bubbles constantly coming up (also possible head gasket being blown symptom?????)
Any suggestions to what my problem is, is it the head gasket? Anything else I can do to test??
Meaningful suggestions greatly appreciated, thanks for your time guys ...
Also there seems to be oil in the coolant, since the coolant overfill tank is a brownish color. As for the head, under the oil cap, there is no white foamy substance (hence no coolant buring in head???)...

The coolant does bubble and get pushed out, which I have read here to be a symptom of a head gasket. I just want to know how come the compression test was the same on all cylinders. I thought that if the head gasket/ or even head are going bad, then the compression test would differentiate between cylinders (>10%).
Any thoughts HT?
