Hard to shift into gears in the morning, help!!
This GSR tranny has only seen 40k miles, doesn't grind at all. But just last week, start the car in the morning, it was pretty tough to shift into into 1st or reverse. It never happen like that before, just last week. I had to use force or shove it into gear. I change the tranny fluid 15k miles ago....maybe i need to change it again?
From that day on, I will have a hard time going into any gears, but always in the morning when the car is cold. Then throughout the day, it would be ok, but seems a little notchy shifting into gears. The clutch is not going bad I would think.
I also noticed the clutch petal is a little spongy. Meaning it's been softer than lately to push the clutch petal to the floor or it has a shorter distance to the floor than before.
Another thing is the clutch fluid system has about 80,000 on it, I don't think it has been changed before.
I need some help guys.

Change your fluid and make sure it's the right weight [use honda brand at least].
It may also be your shifter bushings [happened to me]... or if you bottomed out recently you may have bent your shift linkage [happened to a friend]...
Check the fluid in your clutch MC and make sure your slave cylinder is working properly as well.
These are the cheapest thigs it may be so I would check all of those first.
Did you recently put in a short throw? - thats when mine started doing it and when I replaced the shifter bushings it stopped.

I would highly suggest doing this. Most likely your tranny fluid is low and when it's cold it will make it harder to put in gear. Just change it and make sure it is at the right level.
