EG Rear outer brake light out???
okay my eg hatch rear outer tail light brake bulb is out. i changed it due to the bulb burning out. i cleaned the socket up, because it looked rusted and crap. i put in the new bulb. it works fine.
next morning i checked my brake light again.
when i press the brake the bulb works okay it goes on. The problem is when i turn on the parking lights the brake light bulbs lights up, but when i press the brake pedal the bulb turns off.
wtf?
its two fillament light bulb. both bulbs not burnt?

Sounds like a short between the running light wire and brake wire. It could be a bad socket or there's a short in the harness.
Looks like the socket has been discontinued so, you're gonna have to find it salvage. Try http://www.picknpull.com/check_inventory.aspx You may get lucky and have one near you and, you can get that socket for a couple of bucks.
For the harness short you need to start at the light and trace the harness until you find the short.

The parts guy will tell u wat bulb.
To test for shirts u can use a multimeter and with no power going to signal wire u can test resistance to that wire n ground. It should have no continuity.
I bet your problem is rusted terminals sockets. The socket u out your new bulbs in.

Are you talking about OEM? If so, where did you get this information?? The part number is 33502-SR4-A01, same for 92-95. It comes as a mini-harness with 3 sockets attached, and list price is $21.10, and still available.

Re: EG Rear outer brake light out???
i replaced the whole socket w/harness works like a charm and replaced all the bulbs. I removed the whole tail light lamp assembly and cleaned washed all the inside of the tail light. removed the rusted metal inside and cleaned painted it. i used the heatgun cleaned crap out. i put sillicone rtv seallant and now works no more leaking water going in anymore i hope.......
the problem was everytime i washed my car or when it rained water leaked through the tail light and shorted out the bulbs causing the socket to also rust out short/and bulbs not working properly.....
