yeah i know but he was selling the tranny to me, and considering that with that kind of tranny i would not need to do any mods to the engine... who knows what he got inside the transmission...?? dammm 100 mph in second gear,,!!!!!

He's a dirty lier. Even if he did somehow manage to do that, your acceleration would be suuuuper slow. Think about it. Right now, what does your car max out at in second gear? How long does it take to get it to that speed? What engine speed is that at?
If you were to get to 100 in second it would take much longer because the gearing is much larger (Or is it smaller? Im tired)
Think of it in terms of a bicycle. If you start off in the big gear in front, and the small gear in back, its really hard at first, but you'll eventually end up going really fast. Where as if you shifted up though the gears starting in the easy gears, you would have much faster acceleration and end up in the big gear going fast in probably alot less time then starting out in the big gear.
Thats pretty much the same as going 100mph in 2nd.

Unless your going for a landspeed record on the salt flats, really tall gears aren't what you want.

edit: my post count is 1337. So I know all.

heres the deal, its NOT GSR internals. I've built single cam trannies, and know what they can and cannot accept. Different bearing sizes, different gear sizes, different shaft sizes.

That being said, 100 in 2nd is good if your trying to run a 20 second quarter mile, or save on gas.

No car meant to accelerate will do 100 in second, unless it revs to like 15,000 RPM.

Thats a CX/VX transmission, and a speedo that's out of adjustment...

there is no honda transmission that will do 100 in 2nd. There is no second gear/Final drive combo that will do it.

He didnt put GSR, or 911 internals in the tranny because every tranny is quite different, you cant just throw random gears in.

...and EVEN if it were true, I'd rather drive a geo metro than a honda with a transmission that goes to 100 in 2nd gear. That sounds horrible.

Your not giving us enough info, thus leading us to just consider this total BS.

What mph does his first gear top out at?
3rd gear?
4th gear?

If his second were to top out at 100mph he may never be able to use 5th gear.

Are you sure this is a 5-speed transmission?
It is most likely he has a 4-speed transmission.
