i dont want to break the little damn metal ring
but i need to move it up one to raise the rear of my car. i just bought these koni yellow shocks brand new and im putting them on my car now but i want the back raised higher with these springs i have so how do i take it off?
do i just use some plyers and take it off. it looks like it would break if i did so

let me know asap cuz i have people here helping me and need to get it done fast!

Believe it or not, a small piston ring compressor works great to do this. Otherwise, you can usually CAREFULLY use a pair of split ring pliers to spread the ring enough. Sucks but it works.
