is a d16y7 a interference engine?
okay i ripped the teeth off the timing belt trying to start it in -35 "c and tryed to turn it over a few times before i noticed it was not going to start, is this engine a interference engine ? any one snap one and not bend valves? or would it be a waste of money to but a new timing belt kit for the engine? should i order a new head? thanks for your guys help

is this engine a interference engine ?
If you suspect valve train damage, you need to pull the and head and inspect. Might as well replace the timing belt while you're at this point, so, another YES!

Or you can do a compression or leak down test first. If your engine is having problems cranking in cold weather you need to check other things out.
