A/C in EG with b16 | HOW do i do it?
dont laugh at me guys.. i dont know this stuff..
how do i put AC in a eg hatch with b16a2?
right now it has a b16 compressor with a 92-95 condensor. i bought a 99 civic si AC line( its number 5 at the honda part store) but it doesnt fit. connects correctly at the compressor but it has a horizontal alignment at the condensor while it needs to be vertical. in simple words... the bolt doesnt line up correctly. any help guys.

You will need to take off the B series compressor and the bracket holding it onto the motor.
Then, you need to purchase a ac bracket from a del sol vtec. (the del sol that came with a b16.)
Connect that bracket to your b16, then put a d-series compressor on it. It will bolt up.
Connect your hoses, vacuum flush the system and refill.

sounds to me like he already has the right bracket (if it`s the one that came on the motor) he1s just asking about the line itself.

No, if he has a b16a2, its the wrong bracket. Were not looking for a 99-00 si bracket here, but the del sol vtec.
As far as i know, this is the only way to run ac in an eg with a b16.

SOHC A/C compressor will work with the stock b16a bracket. take off the bracket. if the compressor is off the car. line up the two outer hole closest to the pulley. you will be using those two to bolt the compressor up. and the third will require minor modification welding. i normall use the bottom hole as my third mounting point. you will have to cut the thread bolt hole for the new third mount point to work. kinda hard to explain. if you can take pics and pm me with them. i can show you

you can use the same belt from the del sol, and the del sol you want is from a 94-95 (b16a3). the bracket that comes with it is part #38930-P54-000, or you can get the crv bracket which is actually cheaper at the dealer and the part # is 389-P7J-000. any other b-series brcaket will not work with the d-series compressor.

don't do this for 2 reasons:
1. sounds like alot of work.
2. after awhile do you really want the compressor ripping out of the bracket when you gun it?

yes you noob! honda has 2 a/c compressors they use. one is for the d-series motors and the other are for the b-series motors. now lucky for us, before they used the b-series compressor under the honda badge (because they were only found on the integras), the del sol 94-95 (b16a3)had the same compressor as the regualr civics. in 96+ they decided to switch to the larger compressor for the b16a2.
now once again, under the honda badge they decided to keep the small compressor for another b-series engine. and that engine my friend is the b20, found in the honda crv.
small compressor:
94-00 civic (all trim models [except 99-00 si] equipped with a/c).
94-95 del sol
first gen cr-v (don't really know the production years.)
large compressor:
94-01 acura integra
99-00 honda civic si
96-97 honda del sol.
your user name fits you perfect. next time do your homework!
