Default Bad MPG due to DIY o2 wire extension?

Hey guys, I'm getting about 26 mpg in my 98 Civic EX and it seems low to me. I have DC Header and SRI. I had to extend the primary o2 sensor for the header and I did it by cutting between the o2 sensor wires in half and using solid wire with butt connectors to reconnect it. Would this affect the voltage to the sensor compared to a legit o2 sensor extension and cause my MPG to fall? I have replaced distributor cap/wire, spark plugs/wires, and fuel filter.
