B18a1 swap issues
Hey guys I've been searching Google with. I help so far so here I am.
so I've got a 92 civic cx I have swapped in a b18a1 it is set up to match OBD1 using the factory CX wiring harness, engine has super tech low compression pistons hbeam rods it is turboed, it is running off of a phearable chipped p28 ecu with the basemap to go with it for the b18. It's got a 5spd ls transmission as well.
The issue I'm currently having is the car starts and idles but idles rough As fck, no matter how much gas I give it it revs up extremely slow. It does have a cel for crank position sensor (code 4) is the only code it has. As far as I know these engines don't have a crank position sensor but I've read conflicting posts from Google searches that say it's in the distributor ❓❔❓ I'm kind of lost on what to check I've checked the timing what feels like a thousand times and 99.8% sure it's right it's got good fuel pressure and no vacuum leaks as those were part of my first checks.
Thanks for all the input ahead of time!

Re: B18a1 swap issues
The crank position sensor IS found inside a "B" series distributor. Do you have an OE Factory Distributor or an aftermarket one ? The aftermarket ones tend to have the sensor pick-ups installed slightly out of phase, causing the ignition timing to typically be retarded. I can't tell you how many of these I have checked to set the ignition timing and found that even with the distributor housing advanced ALL THE WAY (fully toward the firewall) in the slot, initial timing was still LESS than 16'... usually only 13' !!!
Also, being one tooth out of mechanical time will cause that engine to rev very slow/sluggish. Double check your timing belt timing.
