Yes its a very common swap that will make the car 2 or 3 seconds quicker. You would be stupid not to buy the trans and swap them.

All d-series hydro tranny's are interchangable.

I hope that was just a typo, but you got it wrong two times. There is no b16z6.

And with an Si/ex tranny you'll have a quicker car due to shorter gearing.

You could also do a mini-me. By swapping a zc or y8 head onto it. It's good for 20-30 hp and with an ex/si tranny that's a hell of a mod actually.

So, in my thread of 140-160hp out of a D15B7 everyone said I couldnt get that hp with it. Now you say 20-30hp with a mini-me swap? Which is it?

Sorry for thread jack! Get the si tranny and go faster!!

With a mini me, you're basically aquiring what is a y8 or zc motor depending on what generation. It usually brings up your BHP from the low 100 of the more econo-like d15b and d16y7 and makes them more like the zc or y8.

About 128-130bhp

But to the ground that's still only like 100-110 whp.
As opposed to the original 85-90
