Default B16 crank pulley spin off, metal clanking, Bent valves? need serious help!

Supp hondatech. im in some deep poop right about now. i have a b16a2 that i recently brought off some young kid. when i dropped in in my ek and started for the first time it idled fine. but wen i went to back it out the garage the crank pulley span on at around 1200 rpm (riding the clutch). the kid didnt install the key and the washer that goes behind the timing pulley. the timing sprocket slipped of course and i heard metal clanking then it died out instantly. now wen i bumped it there is no compression with no metal clanking noise..but the cams dont turn with the crank. what is the chance of bent valves. i honestly dont want to pull this head. this car has been a huge money pit to me.

There is a very good chance you bent all the valves. Always inspect a motor from a random person before you go installing it on your vehicle. Being a kid had nothing to do with him half-assing putting the motor together. I know people a lot younger than me that can out smart over half the members on here.

Did the timing belt also slip off along with the harmonic balancer? or did it not jump time

There is only one way to really check... pull off the head. Everyone on this forum is going to tell you that you bent valves, it is up to you to figure out if you actually did. Without the head off or a visual of what you are working with we can not help.

is there no compression on all cylinders or just some of the cylinders and are you saying that the cams dont turn at all when u try to turn it over.

my h22 broke a valve retainer and it dropped a valve and i thought i toasted a piston but come to find out the valve was jammed open and cause it to read no compression i didnt find it out till i took my head off but usually if you take your cams out you can look down at the valve setup and see if any damage to them but it could have also hurt a piston so if it was me go ahead and pull head off i got lucky on mine and it didnt hurt a piston

thanks guys.. i was seriously debating on pulling the head. if a valve is bent thought im going to be screwedd.. and fv8s you are right i know some kids who are talented. it kinda was my fault for not checking it. i did a quick once around and it seemed fine, i didnt dectect the missing washer. nd no the cams dnt turnt at all. and im not sure because im not cranking it anymore in fear of doing more damage

if the cams arent turning at all is the belt turning cause if it isnt then belt has came off or broke

i would replace valve and get a new head gasket never use a used one and if you have the spare cash buy a set of arp head bolts they can be reused stock ones some times stretch and arent good to reuse

i don't think it's "a bent valve", im pretty sure u bent most valves lol. U should re-build the whole head and see if there was any damage to the block at all. u also should have checked the motor completely before dropping it in.
:/

Put the timing belt back on and set the timing, check for a compression. If its good, congratulations, you go lucky, or as lucky as you can get in this sort of a situation. If it comes back bad, then pull the head.

If you have a bent valve, you could get a oem valve to replace it and see if it seals. Get a Sharpie and mark the seat (cheaper and easier than getting persian blue) and spin the valve. If it wears away the marker all around, or almost all around, just lap it in a little. If it doesn't, get a valve job. If you're going to do that, a full rebuild is preferred. New guides, valves, and a valve job. That's about $700 or so for Supertech valves and guides plus a basic valve job.
