Default 97 hatch HID/PS help :D

Helllo everyone. Knew to the honda-tech forums and hondas
in general. Bought my first honda (97 ek hatch) about a week
and have either been under the hood or at the parts shop, but like
i said i'm not very familiar with anything and so far the internet
has been my guide.

So when i bought the car it already came with the current HID kit.
Not sure which it is exactly, thing is that it seems like there are no
high/beams or it's just stuck on high beams without the high beam
indicator being on. Not sure if it's my low beams that need replacing
or maybe the installation from the previous owner.

Also there is no ps in and don't plan on putting ps in but when messing
with my HID's i noticed the ps fluid canister (not sure what it's called exactly).
Was wondering if i should just take it out since it's not needed? anyways thanks for reading!

Some HIDs are just low beam. Some are high/low. If you want HIDs with high/low you'll have to get something different. You'll probably get flamed in a second about how crappy HIDs are. But for me, on my car, they were better than stock lights. But I bought phillips xtreams and they were great. Cheap too! Unless you really like your HIDs, check them out. To me, HIDs are a ricer accessory now. But to each their own!

Why does your PS not work? Is the belt cut or what? Is it just low on fluid perhaps? PS is kinda nice to have, but isn't that big of a deal IMO. If you're sure your PS isn't hooked up anymore, you could certainly just pull it. But if/when you sell the car, PS is one thing people like to look for. One more nice addition to a car.

BTW, clean car.

EDIT: about the PS, if you plan on having a clean engine bay or wire tucking in the future, it definitely looks better without PS.

For me HID's don't really matter although i do like the look of them. My only problem currently with them is that they seem to be stuck on high/beam and i feel like that *** thats driving around at night blinding people haha.

And the ps pump and belt were removed but i think the previous owner left in some ps parts.

All in all i'm going for that clean engine bay look not really planning on a wire tuck as of yet. Just trying to clean and remove things that don't need to be there.

HIDs aren't meant for a halogen housing headlight. Therefore they disperse the light unevenly. If you want your HIDs to work properly, you would need to retrofit them.

If you don't want to put those things back in, might as well pull the other stuff out!

"Don't need to be there" is a matter of opinion! Haha.

But if I were you and I'm getting the right idea of what you wanna do, I'd take the rest of the PS stuff out.

Gerr means i gotta get some retrofit kits? Think I saw somthing about retro fitting kits but would have to look back into that. ALmost thinking at this point to just have someone else look/install some new ones for me.

From what I've read a retrofit costs $300 I believe it was. Just buy some phillips xtreams. Better light output than stock, won't attract cops, doesn't look ricey, etc etc..
