VTEC should engage, but it's suttle in the Z6. Compare your Z6 to a B7. You should hear it, and it should be a little more responsive, but not like a B18 VTEC. I thought mine just pulled a little harder, but nothing special. What is your idle RPM at?

The Grn/Yel wire at the VTEC solenoid changes into an Orn/Wht wire at the ECU (A4).

The Blu/Blk wire at the VTEC pressure switch changes into an Orn/Blu wire at the ECU (D6).

i think your tach is off and your tach dose not control vtec. the only way i can hear my z6 hit vtec is when everything is off and my windows are rolled down. if you have a loud exhaust you might not hear it ever. should change over at 4800 though. maybe 3800 on your car? ahah
