I NEED HELP!!! NO VTAK:(
i have a '93 honda civic cx hatchback with an obd1 d16z6 swap running a p28 ecu...
...the car is throwing a code 21, 22
i have never worked on eg's before and im not 100% sure what im looking for as far as the vtec wiring goes. the wires are ran from the vtec solenoid and run into the fire wall. im not sure where they go into the ecu from there but i can check tomorrow morning.
i tried searching for the ecu pinout but didnt have any luck. if someone can plaese help me it would be greatly appreciated!

is your fan on when you turn your key to the on position? If it is then switch the plugs on the thermostat and the solenoid.

Re: I NEED HELP!!! NO VTAK:(
the codes are:
21 VTEC spool solenoid valve
22 VTEC pressure valve
so like everyone else said check the oil level first, the if thats good it has to be the wiring. has the vtec ever worked?

Re: I NEED HELP!!! NO VTAK:(
Get some wire and touch one end of it to the battery positive terminal and touch the other end to the connector on the solenoid. If you hear it click, then it works. If it works, then its the wiring, if it doesn't, well then it is the problem.

Re: I NEED HELP!!! NO VTAK:(
your solenoid is more than likely bad though. do like the other guy said and touch the wire to the battery and see if it clicks.
