1998 Civic DX cutting out
Starts and idles fine with a very random misfire at times, it will rev out in park fine and drive fine while very lightly rolling into throttle. Though it will flat cut out, and stall if the throttle is snapped open off idle. I suspected fueling at first, but doubting it because it will accelerate under load all the way to wot if slowly rolled into. I won't be able to check pressures until the banjo bolt adapter comes in the mail. My soon to be ex-wife was driving it when this all started, I had no problems daily driving it for almost a year.
She had to be jumped a few times, and the battery replaced right before all this started happening, related I don't know (some reknob jumped it backwards?). Guys at autozone put it in for her. Unrelated to the issuse, I replaced the manifold and cat assembly because the stock one has a huge crack in it. I know alot of the common problems with Hondas, main relay, dizzy problems ICM, coil, likes the right plugs, wires, etc... They are all usually hit or miss though. The TPS checked out, but has been replaced because I broke the connector, the MAP checks out too..
I've searched and searched, only found a few threads that seem like the same symptoms, and a couple guys threw every part in the catalog at them with no change but had luck on a bad ground on the thermostat housing, and it sloved the issue. I looked at mine, and cleaned it up.. The wires did look kinda shotty but not bad. I'm not about to start throwing parts at it, but I'm at a loss here. Just snapping the throttle a little, it falls right on its face will almost stall out. Slowy and lightly roll into it, no problems.. Could it of jumped a tooth? I may check that, but damn what a hassle.. lmao Anyone have similar problem, or experience?
Edit: BTW no CEL or codes..
