00 civic ex ls/vtec swap help (ht) coolant issues
Hello honda tech , @ lost with my swap ls/ vtec .... First start up filled with coolant and trying to burp system. Car ran for 45 minutes temp never got above half way on guage .. Car had some heat and all hoses were warm/ hot except lower hose was ice cold , also fan never kicked on but as stated never went past half way on gauge . So figured I had a faulty bad thermostate . So got a new thermostate witch was a 170degree wit the first was a 190 that I took out anyways get thermostate in and everything ready to fire up , fired motor up and let run and the car seem to warm up a little sooner then the first time as watching gauge and check n on hoses and fan , peeked back on temp gauge and its sitting at half way with no heat , go I go back to front of car and no fan on and once again all hoses are hot except for lower hose is ice cold ... As knowing last time I ran motor ran it for 45 mins witch was the first start after swap I proceeded to give it more time. So as about 5 minutes past and no fan still peek my head trew window no heat and temp gauge is on hot !!! So I turn motor off go to front of car all hoses hot except for lower still no fan went on and I notice my over fill tank sucked coolant down to (min) mark and the over fill tank sounded to b gurgling to me for a few seconds and stop. Car ran max of 10-15 minutes from starting. Please help what's going on or did I miss something.

Heater core could be clogged up. Flush the system.
Also make sure when you move the ac from cold to heat that the cable under the hood moves also.
And drinking the overflow normally means you have air in the system and the tstat open up and drunk it.

do yourself a favor before you go any further. get yourself a no spill funnel i got mine off the snap on truck because i needed it right then but im sure they sell them at your local parts store. fill the funnel it at least half way. this will allow you to be inside the car holding the engine at a steady 3000 rpm with the heat wide open and allowing the syestem do accept more coolant. do this untill the fan kicks on. every now and then ill run into a vehicle that will get to op temp and the fan will not kick on. if this is the case with you no worries just turn the heat off and it should kick on within a min or so. do not let the needle peg out to the h you have other issues in your coolant syestem
after the fan kicks go back to idle and you should be getting a flood of bubbles. you can move a hose or 2 to help it re install your cap top off the overflow and you should be ready to roll
